Sandals!

I know that I've said before that I really don't care much for sandals but honestly, who can resist getting just a couple of pairs when the sun is shining and the snow is slowely but safely melting away?

Besides, I got these for about $30 which can't be considered anything else but a bargain..

To be completely honest I fell for the buckles right away...

Finally!

Everyone has been telling me to go for the boring alternative: a bed.
The problem is that according to them I can't just buy any bed. Nooo, I need to buy an expensive bed "because it's an important thing to invest in and you'll use it for years to come!" Blahblaha...

Of course I'm going to buy a bed (I just need to point out that I'm doing it mainly for Hubbie and his back..) but it's still fun to read comments like this and see that I've got at least one person on my side.

Eric said: Go for the tribtoos, the new bed can wait !!!!

Well, i did it for my GF, and none of us did regret it. ;)

Eric, it's always nice to hear from you and I'm counting on you being there to help me justify my decision the day I do decide to spend $800 on a pair of heels ;-)

I could buy a new bed. Or...

1 pair of YSL tribtoos
or
20 pair of $25 dollar heels from GoJane
or
1 shoe (right or left, it's your choice!) of the McQueen Faithful Bootie
 or
Half a shoe (I'd definitely go for the part with the heel on the left shoe) of the Louboutin Lady Claude

A new bed or....

Just recently I've noticed a funny thing about the twisted way that my mind works. Whenever people talk about money or I'm about to buy something expensive this is what I do: I start by making a quick calculation in my head to see how much something is worth "in shoes". Often I go to this little happy place in the back of my head and starts dreaming about what specific pair of heels I could by for that amount of money. For example I often find myself counting things in YSL Tribtoos...

Right now there's a tiny struggle inside of my head regarding a new bed.. The sane and reasonable part of me knows that a bed is the right way to go since we obviously need a new one and it's pretty important to have a comfortable bed (That's what I've been told anyway..) The less reasonable part on the other hand is now suffering from a severe case of agony due to the fact that I was stupid enough to start to think about exactly how much a new bed is worth "in shoes". Big mistake. Biiiig mistake....

Ugly shoe of the week

It always amazes me to see how much money you can charge for ridiculously ugly shoes just by putting a famous name on them. Let's be honest here, I wouldn't wear them even if I got paid to do so but I just might accept them as a gift just to be able to tell people about my $1000 Maison Martin Margielas. That's exactly how corny I am.. Corny but honest. At least that's worth something isn't it...?

Steep vs Cheap

I wrote about the knotted Burberry Prorsum sandals a while back and now I've finally found a pretty nice budget alternative at the all so wonderful GoJane.com

Burberry 'Prorsum knotted sandals' 5,25"
(I'm not sure about the price since they seem impossible to get a hold of but similar sandals from the same collection retail at $795)

GoJane.com 'knotted leatherette platform' 5,75" $27.30

Ugly shoe of the week

If  you combine a kitchen curtain with a couple of buckled straps in a disturbingly yellow color this is what you get. They're pretty original but that's just not enough for me.

Yesterday I spent two hours running from store to store, trying to find something for hubbies birthday tomorrow. Every now and then I just happened to run past various shop-windows displaying drool causing, gorgeous high heels. This resulated in a few, not planned for, stops in the above mentioned shops and I had to keep on reminding myself that it's not my birthday I'm shopping for (Unfortunately..) After a short stop in this tiny little shop (completely called for btw, they just happened to have a sale!) with beautiful heels from Friis & Co I couldn't help but wondering if Tom would mind getting a pair of heels for his birthday... I mean, who wouldn't get excited to get these with a big bow wrapped around them?

Ugly shoe of the week

With an overdose of gold, a woven design and a horrible, horrible wedge this is without a doubt the ugliest shoes that I've seen in the past week (as a matter of fact they might just be the ugliest things I've ever seen before...)

The dangers of shoe shopping

When I was standing in the shower yesterday and shampooing my hair I suddenly felt a sore bump the size of a quarter. It took me a while to go through the previous hours of the day in my head, trying to figure out what may have caused this tiny injury. Suddenly I remembered the little incident the day before when I was fighting my way through a shoe sale (-70% in a really small store, accidents are bound to happen) Well, what happend was that I was looking at a pair of heels at a shelf positioned about half a meter from the floor, I bent down to look at them and on my way back up I forgot that there was another shelf over this one and I banged my head in one of the sharp and hard corner edges.

Of course there's a lesson to be learnt here: Shopping for shoes IS a dangerous hobby and a helmet should always be the minimum standard equipment when elbowing through a sale. On sales with a 50% discount or more full body armor is recommended.
